Story

Kat and I wrote Unstable after observing an increase in relationships throughout society that survive on co-dependency and where it’s often considered the norm to be rooted in toxic behaviour.

These types of unions, from my experience, only serve (long term) in helping to clarify boundaries. In the instances when we use them as a gauge/barometer to learn what we need (or don’t need) as human beings working towards maximising our earthbound potential, they can prove to be extremely worthwhile.

In this instance the words came first and Kat did her thing. I feel this song has a powerful message that could be spread far and wide with a real pop-rock vibe.

Lyrics

V1

I know, something’s not quite, sitting right with you, but it’s okay

And I know you say the enemy is near

But it’s all fake, baby it’s all fake

PC

This one-way conversation’s slowly sending me insane

But you’re not to blame for me

CH

Before I feel unstable, I’m gonna disable you

Should I love you like I do? With everything you’ve put me through

Before I feel unstable, let me disable you

What I see in front of me

Makes me feel unstable

V2

With all that I am, I’ve done all that I can to be accepted; won’t be rejected

Gonna leave this ring, I’ve thrown the white towel in, I won’t call on sin

Don’t lead me into, don’t lead me into—

PC

This one-way conversation’s slowly sending me insane

You’re not to blame, for me

CH

Before I feel unstable, I’m gonna disable you

Should I love you like I do? With everything you’ve put me through

Before I feel unstable, let me disable you

What I see in front of me

Makes me feel unstable

Bridge

You hurt when I cry, you laugh when I lie

You’re a walking, slash running contradiction

I mend what you break, when you’ve had all you can take

I can’t let you take from me

CH

Before I feel unstable, I’m gonna disable you

Should I love you like I do? With everything you’ve put me through

Before I feel unstable, let me disable you

What I see in front of me

Makes me feel unstable
